Sikkim and Nepal by Motorbike

Sandwiched between the Kingdoms of Nepal and Bhutan is the Indian state of Sikkim. It is regarded as one of the last Himalayan "Shangri - las" because of its remoteness, spectacular mountain scenery, varied flora and fauna and ancient Buddhist monasteries. Sikkim was an independent Kingdom up to 1975 when it was annexed as a new Indian state. Its people are a mixture of Nepalese, Tibetan and Indian and it's this diversity of people, culture and customs that makes Sikkim such a special place to visit.

Bhutan or "Land of the Thunder Dragon" is nestled on the slopes of the eastern Himalayas and is the only surviving Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayan region. It is a small country, surrounded by Tibet and India, with a population of just over one million. Remaining untouched by foreign influences, until it was opened to the outside world in the 1960's, has allowed its traditional culture, dress, religion and way of life to remain unspoilt. Its stunning natural scenery, vibrant culture, mystical religion and charming people, makes Bhutan a truly exceptional place to visit.

Nepal is a country of vivid contrasts, from tropical plains and ice capped mountain peaks, to fertile valleys and rushing streams, colourful festivals and tranquil meditation. A great ride along paved roads, with some optional trekking or white water rafting, plus friendly and happy locals, plenty of shopping and a nice relaxed atmosphere, makes this a great trip.

Its population is made up of the very colourful and friendly Rajputs, whose ancestors were proud warriors, renowned for their magnificent and often invincible fortresses, which also contain elaborate palaces within. Its a colourful, vibrant part of India, with a great diversity in people and scenery.

Bali is much more than just sun, surf and shopping. It has a rich culture with fine temples, magnificent scenery, active volcanoes, crater lakes, hot thermal springs, mountains, lush tropical forests, rice paddies plus a warm, friendly people, making Bali an ideal place to visit.

This trip allows plenty of time to enjoy the sun, surf and shopping, but also takes in all the sights that this magical island has. There is a good network of paved roads with little traffic, making Bali an ideal place to have a relaxing holiday and a great ride as well.
